October 2011

October was a busy month for our Resident’s. They enjoyed a variety of events specially planned to help everyone get into the fall spirit!
We had a large turnout for our Annual Chili Cook-off. The winner this year was Kristi Knox- Administrator. Congratulations Kristi on winning “the Best Chili of 2011.” Our Scarecrow making was a blast! The Residents had many laughs during this creative event and are looking forward in doing it again next year.
Our monthly Theme Meal last month was Oktoberfest. Our menu was packed with yet again, good food. Resident’s and guest enjoyed a plate full of Sauerbraten, Hot German Potato Salad, Polish Sausage with Sauerkraut and the menu goes on… To finish it all off, Apple Strudel with whipped topping and Root beer punch was served. Thanks again to the Kitchen Staff for their hard work and great talents!!
To finish off the month, we had a pumpkin carving contest, a ladies tea, and Trick or Treaters!

Annual Sweetheart Buffet and Dance

On February 14th the Residents, families and staff joined each other for yet another fabulous meal! Our kitchen staff always does such a  wonderful job putting together an amazing spread of delicious foods for all of us to enjoy! Today, we started off with salmon, london broil, mixed vegetables, fresh fruit, croissants, cheese tortellini salad, green salad and much much more. You would think after all that food our stomachs would stop us there, oh no… we had to finnish with a slice of chocolate truffle cake and cheesecake with strawberries on top!!

After our stomachs started to digest, we took a group to Green River Community College for their annual “Sweetheart Dance”. Big Band music was provided so that everyone could dance. They too provided wonderful refreshments from sandwiches to cookies and cake. Everyone that attend had a wonderful time spreading their love and dancing with one another.
